NEWS YOU CAN USE FROM MRS. TOMASZEWSKI

Dear Parents,

Happy March!  Soon the weather will be turning warmer and our children will get some much needed time outside.  Just a reminder that we do take our students out for recess when the weather is 32 degrees or higher.  Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for going outside.

LENT

As we have entered into the liturgical season of Lent, we remind you to pray, fast and give alms.  Each classroom has a folder for putting a quarter into each day, this is our way of giving alms or providing help to those less fortunate than us.  There will also be a Lenten box in each classroom where spare change other than quarters can be placed.  During Lent there will be Stations of the Cross every Wednesday in English at 6:30pm in the school hall and on Fridays at 6:30pm in Croatian.  Please consider bringing your family to Stations of the Cross during Lent as a way to pray together as a family.

Mark your calendars for an extra day off that wasn’t on our original calendar–March 28th

The Archdiocese of Chicago has allowed every school to choose ONE additional day off of school this year due to the stress and anxiety that Covid has presented to our teachers, staff and families.  The day we will be off is on Monday, March 28th.  Please mark your calendars.  The teachers have a Professional Development day on Friday, March 25th with no school for students.  Therefore, this will be a 4-day weekend for our students.  Thank you for making a note of this additional Monday off.

Lunch volunteers needed daily

Please consider helping at lunch duty during the school year.  The time is from 11:00am until 12:15pm. This time is counted toward your mandatory family volunteer requirement.  Please remember that beginning 11/1, all volunteers will need to show proof of a Covid vaccination.  Click here to sign up:
